Most veterans and their widows wrongly interpret the financial eligibility thresholds. Many have been told they have too much money to qualify. Without being familiar with the allowable deductions and asset reclassification they miss out on thislife changing benefit.
The Aid and Attendance benefit is a pension program that is available to Veterans or their surviving spouses who meet certain eligibility requirements. For those needing assistance of either a home health aide (or family member) or who live in an assisted living facility, this benefit can provide up to the following amounts:
VETERAN'S PENSION PAYS UP TO $2300 PER MONTH
WIDOW'S PENSION PAYS UP TO $1478 PER MONTH
COUPLE'S PENSION PAYS UP TO $2727 PER MONTH
You may be eligible for this program if:
You or your spouse served 90 days or more of active duty with at least 1 day wartime
The veteran received an Honorable Discharge
